Online Shopping
I have been shopping online for quite a while now. It's fun to see and order things through the Internet and get that delivered to your house. Do not have to really waste my time going through shops, comparing prices and choosing the best. Everything can be done quite simply through my computer. I have started by purchasing smaller items and my internet spending went up little by little. I have purchased mp3 players, camcorder, about 20+ mobile phones and other stuff. Shopping experience was really good until about three weeks ago.
I have decided to get the laptop which has been identified as the best suit for me. First of all I started with the official online retailer which is hpstore uk. Chose to buy the laptop here because they had special discounts and free delivery offer for all their online product ranges. I have placed my order and waited for it to deliver. For every process that happens to my order, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to notify me the current order queue. However, when it came a certain process. My order gets rejected automatically. I have tried with my debit and credit cards but still the order wont go through. I called them up and wasted few hours just to find out that there is no way they can process my order unless I send them the money by wire transfer or personal cheque. I thought the hpstore's credit checking procedure was quite tight which for some weird reason did not allow me to purchase. I decided not to continue with their online store and canceled my order. Canceling the order is also a nightmare. They can process and hold my money on my card in seconds but they take 3 to 5 working days to get the money back to my credit card account.
Again, I started searching for the laptop from another retailer. Placed the order everything was good and came to a certain point were they couldn't process it any further. The reason given is they would need a proof of address statement for them to complete the order. Fine.....I faxed them the copy and waited just for me to get a message saying....sorry sir, we can process your order since our delivery company has an agreement just to deliver within the mainland. Idiots! They would definitely have my address on their system when I placed the order which would have clearly stated that I am not based in mainland. I was not very happy with their reply but then I just stopped asking any further because I didn't want anymore nonsense.
Maybe I should just go and grab one in the store!

Big Blow at Monza
It has always been a big celebration for the team for all these years at Monza. What happened today was one of the worst Ferrari results. One DNF and a third place in home soil is crazy. To add to the bitter result, two McLarens stole the attention today. Yeah, definitely something big is missing in the team.

Awesome N95
I got my N95 last week and just couldn't seem to find the time to blog for the past week. After using Vodafone and O2 now I am with Orange with this handset. I have to say I am very satisfied with Orange's coverage. With O2, I am not even able to get proper GSM signal. I have to keep moving my mobile and search for coverage. Vodafone was better but I am only able to get full signal for GSM. With Orange, I am able to get full strength 3G signal without any hassle.
Apart for the excellent coverage, I am able to enjoy quite a number of privileges as Orange customer. Normally, I would watch movies on a Tuesday because I can get a flat rate of GBP2.50 for any movie. Thanks to Orange, now I can enjoy movies on Wednesdays too with Orange Wednesdays. I can get two tickets for the price of one under Orange Wednesdays promotion. I can also choose a magic number with Orange. I can make as many call as I like to this magic number and yes of course, fair use policy applies here too.
My broadband contract with NTL is coming to an end soon and I am thinking of subscribing to Orange's Broadband and extra bundles. Currently I am getting a 2MB broadband (only) speed and I am paying GBP18.00 each month. Thanks again to Orange, my broadband bill is going to be lower. If an Orange customer applies for broadband, they can get an 8MB broadband + free LiveBox (new generation router with VOIP phone plug in option & IPTV - TV packages over the internet) for GBP5 a month. Yes, just GBP5 a month!
Now back to the mobile phone, Nokia N95 is simply superb. The first thing that I would test on a mobile phone is the camera. These are some of the pictures I took with this camera.

Nokia's internal image enhancing is still present in this model but I think it is not as bad as the one in Nokia N73. 5MP resolution really helps the 20x digital zoom. The GPS system is something I really enjoyed playing with. I simulated my journey in a car from Penang to Kulim. It simulates with speed of 40mph and gives me accurate direction, turnings, warnings, etc. That was cool but this feature needs the phone to be hooked up to the Internet via WLAN or 3G. Two way slide gives faster access to multimedia content in the phone. One obvious thing that I notice is the weight of this phone. After using the bulky N93 I feel this one like a featherweight phone. It is much lighter than Nokia N73. There is only one flaw I have noticed so far. The battery life for this powerful gadget is just unbelievable. I need to charge the phone practically everyday under normal usage conditions. Overall, I am quite happy with this gadget.
